We are limiting the footfall into the health centre in order to protect both our staff and patients. We are offering telephone triage daily and the doctor will determine when, how and where you will be treated. Please ring before 10.30am.

Test Results

Please note that WE DO NOT contact you with results. It is your responsibility to ring the surgery for any results.

test_vials2When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Results usually take about 3 - 5 days to be returned and viewed by a doctor.

Doctors add a comment on each result and the reception staff will relay this message back to you. Receptionists are not qualified to comment on results. 

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Please ring daily after 10.30 for results. Please be aware that the phone lines are very busy between 10.30 and 1.00 with repeat prescription requests.

 

Smear results

It takes 2-4 weeks for cytology reports to come back from the lab. Please ring for results. If your result is abnormal, a referral will already have been made to the Colposcopy Clinic and the GP is happy to discuss this with you.
